Three of the candidates for a seat on the Newport City Commission participated in a forum at Headquarters Historic Event Center on Monmouth Street Thursday night.

Six candidates, including all of the incumbents, are vying for the four seats on the Commission.

Ken Rechtin was the only incumbent to participate in the forum. He was joined by candidates Robbie Hall and Jason Walter.

Incumbents Beth Fennell, Thomas Guidugli, the City’s vice mayor, and Frank Peluso, did not participate.

The Forum was hosted by Kentuckians For The Commonwealth and the Westside Citizens Coalition.

Candidates provided opening statements and answered a wide range of questions from those in attendance and Northern Kentucky Tribune Managing Editor Mark Hansel, the forum moderator.

Each candidate was also given an opportunity to deliver a closing statement.
