Candidate forums set: Newport, Covington, Park Hills city commissions and two state legislative districts

As the November 6 election approaches, more candidate forums are being scheduled.

The NKyTribune is offering a final forum on October 29 for state legislative races and is partnering with the NKY Chapter of Kentuckians for the Commonwealth and the Westside Coalition for a Newport City Commission forum.

Other opportunities to meet and hear from the candidates are below. If you have a forum to add to the list, please send to news@nkytrib.com and we will be happy to add it to this list.

Newport City Commission Forum

The Newport City Commission forum is hosted by Kentuckians For The Commonwealth and the Westside Citizens Coalition at the Headquarters Historic Event Center at 925 Monmouth Street in Newport, 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18.

The NKyTribune’s Mark Hansel will moderate.

Hansel will ask several questions of each candidate, as well as give candidates a chance to give an opening and closing remark. The forum part of the evening will take place from 7 to 8 pm, with opportunities to meet and talk with candidates one-on-one before and after that.

The event is a free public service and is open to the public.

Notre Dame Academy Hosts Meet the Candidates Night for City of Park Hills

Notre Dame Academy is hosting Meet the Candidates Night for the City of Park Hills on Tuesday, October 23 from 7-9p.m. The event promises to be a lively venue for voters to meet the candidates first-hand, hear their positions on issues of importance to the city, and pose questions directly to them.

Residents of Park Hills are encouraged to meet and talk to the candidates running for City Council and Mayor at this event. Each candidate will have an opportunity to present their thoughts and ideas for Park Hills in an open forum setting. Afterward, each candidate will be available for individual questions in an open meet and greet session.

The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be available. This event is sponsored by NDA’s Rho Kappa Society, the National Social Studies Honor Society, in conjunction with Notre Dame Academy. Notre Dame Academy is dedicated to encouraging active and informed participation in government.  In sponsoring Meet the Candidates Night, it adheres to strict guidelines to assure a fair and impartial opportunity for all candidates to present their views.
