Second Wind Dreams provides Elvis sighting, Blue Suede Shows for Colonial Gardens residents

On Thursday, September 13, Colonial Gardens will celebrate the 6th Annual International Second Wind Dream’s Day by recreating the first ever dream fulfilled by the internationally known nonprofit.

Tyler Christopher

Over twenty years ago, Second Wind Dreams founder, P.K. Beville discovered a dream for 91-year- old twin sisters living in a nursing home. The ladies simply wanted a Happy Hour and Elvis Impersonator.

At that point, Beville realized how easy it was to enhance the lives of elder care residents and provide hope and happiness through the fulfillment of their dreams.

Now, in 2018, Colonial Gardens is going to make it happen once again. Colonial Gardens has been a member of the Second Wind Dreams program since last March and has proudly fulfilled dreams for three of their residents already.

What: International Second Wind Dreams® Day Celebration
When: Thursday, September 13
Time: 1 p.m.
Where: Colonial Gardens, 6900 Hopeful Rd, Florence

Second Wind Dreams Day was created in 2013 to honor elders and bring much-needed support and awareness to elder care through the engagement of local communities, volunteers, caregivers, and donors.
