Passport Health Plan presented the Kentucky State Police Foundation with a $25,000 grant which will be used to purchase fentanyl response kits that will help KSP troopers avoid contact with dangerous drugs.
The kits include Tyvek suits, respirator masks, fentanyl protective gloves, safety glasses, and a portable gear bag.
Grainger Inc. is supplying the gear, which will be issued to all sworn units through the KSP Supply Branch.
The Kentucky State Police Foundation released a video of the presentation and a demonstration of how the new fentanyl response kits will help keep KSP troopers safe as they are on the front lines protecting Kentuckians.
Passport Chief Operating Officer Carl Felix commented on why the non-profit health plan is joining with KSP on this important initiative: “At Passport, our mission is to improve the health and quality of life of all Kentuckians. With this donation, we hope that we can help all the brave troopers as they struggle every day to dispose of these illegal drugs and help our fellow Kentuckians live happier healthy lives. We consider this call to action our contribution to the thin gray line.”
