First-ever Cincinnati Body Paint Expo to take place at New Riff Distillery in Newport, tickets on sale now

More than a dozen models painted head to toe will walk the runway at the first-ever Cincinnati Body Paint Expo.

Art lovers from all over are expected to be at New Riff Distillery in Newport for this celebration of body and art on Aug. 16 from 6-10 p.m.

Tickets are limited and must be purchased ahead of time online at www.cincinnatibodypaint.com.

Body painting, once taboo, is now a mainstream celebration of art and the human body. TV shows like GSN’s Skin Wars and Syfy Channel’s Face Off have inspired a new generation of artists and fans to embrace this vibrant living artform.

Local body painter and Season 2 finalist of the reality show Skin Wars, Aryn Fox, is one of the organizers and painters

“I wanted to bring a community of artists together and also give Cincinnati the opportunity to experience the magic of body painting firsthand,” said Fox.

Bud Stross, co-organizer and one of the creators of The Dent Schoolhouse haunted attraction saw that there was a void in Cincinnati for the celebration of body paint.

“Artists like Aryn have to travel all over the U.S. and sometimes the world just to have a venue to show off their work.” Bud continues, “We are excited to supply a fun event for guests and would love to grow this as a must-see event ever year.”

The Cincinnati Body Paint Expo will feature body paints from 13+ artists from all over the United States. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is the 2018 theme.

The tickets are $30 and include an open bar (beer and wine), hors d’oeuvres including a macaroni bar, body paint runway show, live Q&A with Fox and live djing afterwards with DJ Jacoby of Q102.

The show is open to all ages.
