CVG to update its master plan; do online survey, and attend public workshops to review and comment

Typically every five years an airport goes through a master plan update.

The last time CVG updated its plan was in 2013 and the airport has completed much of what was outlined in that update.

With the record-breaking passenger and cargo growth at CVG, the airport is currently undergoing a Master Plan Study update to plan for long-term success. The updated plan will provide a framework to determine what CVG facilities and infrastructure will look like 30 years into the future.

CVG is asking the public to participate in an online survey to provide insight.

The airport will also host the first of three public workshops to allow the general public the opportunity to review and comment on the concepts (different options of what our facilities could look like in the future) presented.

The workshop will follow an open house format where concepts will be displayed on presentation boards staffed by Master Plan Team members to answer questions.

Topics covered in the first meeting include:

• What is a Master Plan?
• Why is CVG updating the Master Plan now?
• Operational changes at CVG since completion of previous study
• Continued shift from hub-based activity to 85%+ local traffic
• Return and growth of air cargo operations
• Demand for aeronautical and non-aeronautical development
• Need to review age, condition, availability and sustainability of existing passenger terminal facilities
• CVG Master Plan Study progress
• Summary of aviation activity forecast
• Passenger facility concepts and level one evaluation

This workshop will be held on Tuesday (Aug. 7) from 5-7 p.m. on the 1st floor of the CVG Centre located at 77 Comair Boulevard, Erlanger.

Anyone needing assistance with language or accessibility can contact the CVG Administrative Offices at (859) 767-3151.

Topics of future workshops are likely to include:

· Overview of land use concepts
· Review of final recommendations
