“I was a kid from inner-city Covington and the product of good teachers and a great school system. I got a great education at Holmes. There’s no doubt about that.”

Edmondson will be recognized at the foundation’s Hall of Honors celebration on Wednesday, October 10 at The Drees Pavilion from 6 to 9 p.m.

Edmondson is a 1965 graduate of Holmes High School. He went on to University of Kentucky Law School, graduating in 1972. He initially practiced with Spalding, Bubenzer and Grause. In 1975, he opened his own law firm, still located in Covington. Edmonson has served the community and represented every kind of public entity – from cities to school boards.

He is a proud alum of Holmes, who often attends Bulldogs’ sporting events.

He delivered the Holmes commencement address a few years ago. In addition, Edmondson started a minority internship for Holmes students who are interested in careers in law.

He has been a member of many organizations and served on numerous boards, including the Northern Kentucky Mental Health Association, the Optimist Club, Ft. Mitchell Lions Club and Covington Lions Clubs.

He has also received local, regional and statewide awards for his valuable work.

“Some students have tough situations,’’ Edmonson said. “But I always let everyone know what a great school Holmes is and always has been. That tradition continues. Holmes turns out a great product. Sometimes kids need encouragement and a little help.’’
