Beechwood’s Molly Seifert earns coaching award from National Speech & Debate Association

Molly Seifert, English teacher and Speech and Debate coach at Beechwood High School, recently earned the two-diamond coaching award from the National Speech & Debate Association.

A two-diamond coaching award reflects excellence and longevity in speech and debate education as well as the outstanding success of the school’s program.

Seifert began coaching speech and debate in 2002 and has spent the last 12 years as the coach at Beechwood High School in Fort Mitchell. She has coached over 50 students to individual regional and state championships.

In addition, 15 Beechwood students under the direction of Ms. Seifert have represented the state of Kentucky at the prestigious National Speech and Debate Association’s national tournament held each June.

“I’m proud to be recognized for this award, but I’m even prouder of my students’ accomplishments,” Seifert states. “It’s not about trophies. It’s about the confidence and the critical thinking skills that these kids gain through speech and debate competition. These are vital skills that will carry them far in life.”
