Deadline approaching: UpTech accelerator seeks data-driven startups for seventh cohort


UpTech, Greater Cincinnati’s accelerator for data-driven startups, is currently accepting applications for its seventh cohort, which is set to begin in September 2018. The deadline to apply is Sunday, June 17 at 11:59pm; however, startups are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible.

UpTech will be accepting up to 10 startups that will receive up to $50,000 each. UpTech is looking to invest in data-driven, tech-enabled startups offering scalable B2B solutions in large markets. Learn more about what UpTech looks for in a team and a company at https://www.uptechideas.org/apply.

For the second year in a row UpTech is excited to partner with St. Elizabeth Healthcare to bring a healthcare technology track to the program. St. Elizabeth is one of the region’s most-respected and technologically advanced medical providers with a strong history of innovative projects. A subset of the seventh cohort will be considered for selection to work with St. Elizabeth professionals who will provide the startups with meaningful access to industry expertise and connections. The program will be looking for startups providing innovations primarily in patient care and patient experience; however, all health tech startups are encouraged to apply.

  • UpTech 7 Begins:Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018
  • UpTech 7 Demo Day:Early 2019

The UpTech program offers participants benefits that go well beyond investment dollars. UpTech develops investable startups by providing founders with startup education, one-on-one weekly advising, free co-working space, dedicated legal and accounting counsel, and early investor feedback through our investor relationships.

In addition, participants have access to staff resources for aid in graphic design, an entrepreneur speaker series with more than 30 speakers, access to more than 200 mentors, a university student intern grant, and gigabit internet.

UpTech’s support of its portfolio companies is strengthened through its participation in the StartupCincy community and its unique partnership with The Kentucky Innovation Network at Northern Kentucky. Additionally, through UpTech’s connection with Cintrifuse, cohort participants are exposed to a wide network of entrepreneurs, mentors, BigCos, and customers in the region. UpTech’s portfolio companies to date have secured $6.7MM in follow-on funding with 3 successful exits.
