Milestones Equestrian Achievement Program to offer therapeutic riding lessons year ’round


The Board of Directors and staff of Milestones announce that beginning in January of 2018 Milestones Equestrian Achievement Program will be offering lessons year-round.

By moving to quarterly sessions Milestones will be expanding the therapeutic riding program from 32 weeks to 46 weeks each year.

Registration is now open for the upcoming Winter Session, which will operate January 8th through March 31st.

Milestones is a therapeutic horsemanship program that presents opportunities for individuals with challenges to enhance their quality of life.

Milestones is a nationally accredited, nonprofit organization that strives to assist each rider to become an innovative and productive member of the community by building independence, self-confidence, and social skills in a safe, fun, loving environment. This is done through a Therapeutic Riding program which teaching horsemanship skills and basic grooming to individuals with diagnoses such as Autism, Cerebral Palsy, traumatic brain injury, Spina Bifida, Down syndrome, etc. (ages three and up).

In addition Milestones offers a Silver Saddles Program, which was founded as a means for the over 50 crowd to stay fit. Participants meet weekly with the goal of improving flexibility, balance and muscle tone, as well as general horsemanship. Milestones will provide over 2,500 hours of therapeutic riding in 2018.

Volunteer applications are also being accepted for the upcoming volunteer training, which is scheduled for January 6th from 1-3 p.m. at Milestones.
