Fans who have always wanted a hippopotamus for Christmas now have the chance.
Thanks to a partnership with the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, Florence Freedom fans can get their hands on a one of kind Fiona the Hippopotamus Snow Globe this holiday season and receive the item on July 25 during the “Christmas in July” game and promotion.
The reigning Frontier League West Division champion Freedom will take on the Normal Cornbelters on July 25 at UC Health Stadium in Florence. Fans can guarantee themselves a Fiona snow globe by taking advantage of one of the Freedom’s specialty Christmas packs.

This is not a traditional giveaway. Fans that purchase one of the packs above will be the only ones to receive the Snow Globe. With each Fiona holiday pack sold, the Florence Freedom will make a contribution to the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden Foundation.
“Is there anyone who hasn’t fallen in love with Fiona yet?” said Josh Anderson, the Freedom’s vice president and general manager. “This will be one of those unique promotional giveaway nights fans will want to take advantage of, and it might be 2018’s best baseball giveaway.”
The Fiona snow globes will be in limited supply and fans will only be able to guarantee a snow globe with a purchase online at FlorenceFreedom.com before January 15.
“We never imagined that there would be a Fiona snow globe or that it would be available in July. We’re thrilled to partner with the Freedom on this very unique giveaway,” said Chad Yelton, vice president of marketing and communications at the Cincinnati Zoo.
In addition to the Fiona Snow Globe, the Freedom will wear custom Fiona jerseys that night that will be auctioned off to the crowd. The jersey sales will also benefit the Zoo.
The Florence Freedom are members of the professional independent Frontier League and play all home games at UC Health Stadium, which is located at 7950 Freedom Way in Florence.
