Kenton County Public Library Halloween events include crafts, haunted house, trick-or-treating, more


The Kenton County Public Library has provided a list of Halloween events at its branches throughout the month of October.

Covington Branch, 502 Scott Blvd.

Creepy Crafts
Thursday, October 12, 7-8 p.m.
We’ll have a handful of different Halloween crafts to make.

Cook-a-Book Halloween!
Saturday, October 21, 11 a.m.-noon
Preschool & School Age
Join us for creepy Halloween stories and spooky snacks to go with them. Registration required.

Haunted Walking Tour
Wednesdays, October 25, 10-11 a.m.
Everyone
Join us for a spooky tour of the Licking Riverside neighborhood as we recount the grim stories of the neighborhood’s prior inhabitants. Comfortable walking shoes encouraged. Meet in the Local History and Genealogy Department.

Library Trick-Or-Treat
Thursday, October 26, 6:30-8 p.m.
Children 12 and under
Start in the Children’s Department to create your very own treat bag for collecting goodies. There will also be Halloween games.

The Horror of it all Film Festival
Friday, October 27, 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Adults
Join us as we screen four of Vincent Price’s most horrifying films – The Pit & The Pendulum, Masque of the Red Death, The Haunted Palace and The Fall of the House of Usher.

Monster Slime Time
Saturday, October 28, 11 a.m. & 3 p.m.
School Age
Make monster slime mixtures while learning about the scientific process. Limited to the first 25 in attendance.

Fireworks & Pumpkin Salute
Saturday, October 7, 7-8:15 p.m.
Everyone
Launch into the month of October with Vito’s Fireworks and an exploding pumpkin salute.

Halloween Makeup Tutorials
Sunday, October 15, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Everyone
Using only store-bought Halloween makeup supplies, makeup artist Beth Parks will demo 3-4 different makeup styles.

Camp Fire Stories
Friday, October 27, 7p.m.
Everyone
Mosey on up to the campfire at the Library for a night of spooky stories and campfire snacks.

Haunted Library
Saturday, October 28, 5-8:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 29, 2-4:30 p.m.
Everyone
Thrills, chills and laughs await all who dare to enter. Please bring a canned good or non-perishable item for a charity donation. Ideal for children 8 and up.

Zombie Apocalypse: How to Survive the Walking Dead Scavenger Hunt
Saturday, October 14, 6- 9 p.m.

Celebrate our love of the zombie apocalypse with trivia about the show and a scavenger hunt with an emphasis on survival training.

Pumpkin Carving and Decorating
Thursday, October 19, 6-8 p.m.
Everyone
You supply the imagination, we’ll supply the carving tools, decorations and pumpkins – while supplies last.

Library Trick-or-Treat
Sunday, October 29, 2-3 p.m.
Children ages 2-12
Join us for Halloween themed stories and activites, and trick-or-treat through the Library. Costumes encouraged.

Halloween Warmup
Monday, October 30, 6-7 p.m.
Teens
From providing costume dress rehearsal and carving pumpkins to making zombie marshmallows – we’ll get you ready for Halloween.
