To celebrate the opening of the new Independence store, ALDI will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:45 a.m. on Monday, April 4. The public is invited to attend.

Following the ceremony, the first 100 shoppers will receive a golden ticket, each containing ALDI gift certificates of various amounts. Customers can also tour the store, sample ALDI exclusive brand products and enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to win a year’s supply of ALDI produce.

ALDI currently carries a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, including several organic produce items.

The store will offer several “Produce Picks of the Week” at competitive prices including cantaloupes for 99 cents each, strawberries for $1.69 per 1-pound pack, and USDA organic bananas for 69 cents per pound as part of the grand opening celebration.

“As ALDI continues to grow in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky, we are pleased to open this new location to help more smart shoppers stretch their dollars even further,” said Sarah Brown, Springfield division vice president for ALDI. “As important as price is, there’s only one way to attract and keep shoppers: You have to have quality products. When people try our ALDI exclusive brands, they are surprised by the savings and impressed by the quality.”

Thanks to input from loyal customers, the Independence store presents a new look in a modern and convenient shopping environment. Features include more room for customers’ favorite products, inviting colors, high ceilings, natural lighting and environmentally-friendly building materials – such as recycled materials, energy-saving refrigeration and LED lighting.

The store is simple to navigate with easy-to-spot product signage and prominent product prices. The store will feature expanded cooler sections, healthy tips within the produce section and “Dietitian’s Picks” – healthy products handpicked by leading nutrition experts, all making it even easier for families to make smart choices.

In addition to the store’s new look, ALDI will bring shoppers a wide range of premium groceries from which to choose, such as organic produce, USDA Choice beef, the liveGfreeTM gluten-free product line and the SimplyNature line of products free from over 125 artificial ingredients and preservatives.

All exclusive brand food products are free of certified synthetic colors, partially hydrogenated oils and added MSG.

ALDI challenges customers to switch from national brands to its exclusive brands and save on their grocery bill. To ensure its exclusive brands meet or exceed the national brands on taste and quality, ALDI conducts rigorous testing on all products. ALDI stands behind this quality with a Double Guarantee: If for any reason a customer is not 100 percent satisfied with a food product, ALDI will gladly replace the product and refund the customer’s money.

ALDI eliminates overhead costs through practices, such as a cart rental system, through which shoppers insert a quarter to release a cart and receive the quarter back upon the cart’s return. Other cost-saving practices include a smaller store footprint, open carton displays and encouragement of customers to bring their own shopping bags.

The newest ALDI location will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Over the next several years, ALDI plans to add an average of 130 new stores each year. For more information on ALDI stores, click here
