The Junior Achievement of OKI Partners (JA) recently announced that Heritage Bank President and CEO Lytle Thomas is one of 10 recipients of the Gold Leadership Award, one of the organization’s most prestigious national awards.

Thomas is being recognized for his volunteer excellence, ability to provide resources to students, leadership in supporting and expanding JA’s student impact, and operational excellence and sustainability. He was selected from more than 218,000 volunteers countrywide and was honored at the Junior Achievement USA Volunteer Summit in New York earlier this month.
“Our local business community’s support of JA is critical to achieving our mission, to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in the global economy,” said John Weil, president of Junior Achievement of OKI Partners. “Lytle Thomas, president and CEO at Heritage Bank, is a remarkable example of that spirit of dedication and service to others. In a very real way, he helps Greater Cincinnati area JA students get the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices.”
Thomas’ vast community network and commitment to JA raised membership involvement from 28,691 to 42,326 students and annual giving from $843,000 to $1,476,527.
Junior Achievement’s entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and work-readiness programs are delivered in classrooms during the school day by volunteer role models from the local business community.
Burlington-based Heritage Bank was founded in 1990 by a group of local businessmen who wanted to preserve the concept of local banking.
Thomas, who resides in Ft. Wright with his wife and two children, started his banking career in 1988 and became president of Heritage Bank in 2010. Heritage Bank is currently the largest locally owned and operated community bank based in Northern Kentucky.
Thomas currently serves as Chairman of Leadership Kentucky, as a member of the American Bankers Association Grassroots Advocacy Committee and as Board Member and Immediate Past Chairman of the Kentucky Bankers Association.
Thomas is also the former Chair of the Board for the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and the former chair of the Board for Junior Achievement of Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana.
Heritage Bank has 17 offices and 20 ATMS in Boone, Kenton, Campbell, Pendleton, and Grant Counties.
