Governor appoints N.Ky’s Brett Gaspard as state Executive Director of Boards and Commissions


Governor Matt Bevin announced today the appointment of Brett Gaspard as Executive Director of Boards and Commissions. Gaspard brings more than 20 years of private sector experience with a strong emphasis on contract management, government relations and community engagement.

“I am pleased to have someone of Brett’s experience and character serving in this position,” said Gov. Bevin. “The selection of qualified candidates for our many boards and commissions will play an instrumental role in producing a brighter future in Kentucky. Brett is a man of high integrity and high intelligence and I am confident that he will do an excellent job guiding the vetting process in an effective, fair and transparent manner.”

“Governor Bevin is a forward-thinking optimist with a solid track record of business success who I believe is going to accomplish wonderful things for our Commonwealth,” said Gaspard. “I am humbled by the opportunity to help find talented and qualified individuals who are willing to serve our Commonwealth on boards and commissions.”

Mr. Gaspard began his career as a newspaper reporter while attending Northern Kentucky University, but later transitioned into the waste management business where he has spent the past 15 years overseeing municipal contracts in Ohio and Kentucky. He has also served as a volunteer advisor to many state and local political candidates including U.S. Senator Rand Paul and Congressman Thomas Massie.

Additionally, Gaspard is the outgoing chairman of the Boone County Republican Party and has held key volunteer roles with the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Kentucky Taxpayers United and League of Kentucky Property Owners.

Brett resides in Walton with his wife Toni and two daughters, Hannah and Isabella.
