Letter to Editor: Ann Mort of Crestview Hills says vote for Buddy Wheatley for state representative

To the Editor:

I moved to Northern KY five years ago to live closer to my children and grandchildren.

As a life-long volunteer with an avid interest in local politics, I always encourage my family to pay attention to their elected officials and always, always vote! So, after my move I set out to find the candidates I felt were working for the good of their constituents.

Buddy Wheatley

Buddy Wheatley, representing the KY State 65th District covering Covington, Park Hills, Edgewood, Ft Wright and Crestview Hills, is an elected official running for reelection that I feel is worthy of my vote and my support.

He has a special skill set that is particularly beneficial when bills to relieve suffering in times of natural disaster come before the KY State lawmakers.

Wheatley spent 20 years as a Covington fireman, retiring as chief. As a fourth- generation firefighter, he learned early how important the proper response to floods, tornados and other disasters can be. His formal disaster training and on-the-job knowledge taught him to respond quickly and appropriately when fellow citizens need help. In retirement, he has earned his law degree and can now add legal knowledge to his list of abilities.

Buddy has served his neighbors in the KY State House since 2019 and is running for another term in that post.

I will be voting for Buddy and hope others will do so as well.

Ann Mort
