Fernando Figueroa, president of Gateway C&TC, to speak at Covington Business Council’s luncheon

The Covington Business Council will host guest speaker Fernando Figueroa, president of Gateway Community & Technical College, at its monthly luncheon September 15 at 11:30 at the Radisson Hotel Cincinnati Riverfront.

Dr. Figueroa will outline the current state of the college, what future programs will look like, and the challenges expected ahead. He will address the latest changes to Covington’s urban campus and how that will impact the city’s landscape — and the college.

Dr. Fernando Figueroa

He became president of Gateway in 2016 to chart a new course for the college and to align it with the region’s workforce needs and economic opportunities coming to the region.

In his time at Gateway, he has been an advocate for key initiatives in the region particularly focused on workforce development and diversity, inclusion, and equity.
