Cinci/NKY VisionWalk Sept. 24 to raise awareness, fund research to treat, cure blinding diseases

The Foundation Fighting Blindness, the world’s leading organization committed to finding treatments and cures for blinding retinal diseases, will host its 17th Annual Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky VisionWalk on Saturday, September 24, at Theodore Berry Friendship Park in Cincinnati.

This family-friendly event is an opportunity for VisionWalk supporters throughout the Tri-State area to come together to raise awareness and funds for the Foundation’s mission.

Beginning at 9 a.m., VisionWalk participants will gather at Ted Berry Park for an exciting morning filled with entertainment, kid’s activities, refreshments, and more. Our guest emcee will be Paula Toti-Smith from WKRC TV, CBS 12. Participants are invited to post pictures or videos of their family and friends at the VisionWalk using #VisionWalkStrong.

“Our Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky VisionWalk will be a celebration of our community,” says Steve Sroka, Associate Director of Events. “We are excited to host the signature event of the Foundation Fighting Blindness in the Tri-State area for our 17th year and are looking forward to our VisionWalk supporters showing their unwavering dedication to our vital mission.”

Through its 17-year history and the generosity of more than 225,000 walkers, donors, and corporate sponsors, VisionWalk has raised more than $60 million. These funds have enabled the Foundation to continue advancing its important mission of moving vision-restoring treatments from the laboratory to the patients who need them. Vision science is making great strides — today, more than 45 potential treatments are in clinical trials — but there is still more work to do.
