Two girls high school basketball players who reached a career milestone in the same game will be teammates in the Ohio-Kentucky All-Star Games on Saturday at Thomas More University’s Connor Convocation Center.
The annual senior all-star games showcase some of the top boys and girls basketball players in the two states. This year, the Kentucky girls roster includes Lacey Bradshaw and Macie Feldman of Notre Dame, Jenna Lillard of Ludlow and Rylee Turner of Newport Central Catholic.

Six weeks ago, Lillard and Turner both reached the 2,000 mark in career scoring during a 9th Region tournament game between their two teams. Lillard ended her high school career that night with 2,006 points. A few days later, Turner finished with 2,083.
Lillard will be continuing her basketball career at Thomas More, but Turner has not yet made a college commitment.
Both of the Notre Dame players will be joining NCAA Division I programs. Feldman will be going to Johns Hopkins University in Maryland and Bradshaw has signed with Morehead State.
The only local player on the Kentucky boys roster for the all-star game is Covington Catholic senior Mitchell Rylee, who has made a commitment with Miami University of Ohio. He was the only senior starter on the CovCath team that won the 9th Region championship and made it to the semifinals of the state tournament.
The girls all-star game is set for 5 p.m. Saturday with the boys game to follow at 7 p.m. On Friday, players are invited to participate in a SlamJam Festival at 7 p.m. Complete rosters for the four teams are posted on the oh-kyallstargame.com website.
Ryle sweeps boys individual, team titles in Region 6 archery
Ryle sophomore Jacob Klette won the Region 6 boys archery championship by one point and the Raiders took the team title in a tournament that took place March 25-26 at Simon Kenton High School.
There was a tie for first place in the women’s individual standings. Conner sophomore Alexis Smith and Simon Kenton freshman Lauren Westermeyer both finished with 289 points and 20 tens.
Simon Kenton won the girls team title with Dixie Heights placing second. The top two teams in the boys division were Ryle and Simon Kenton. All four of those teams qualified for the state archery tournament on April 19 in Bowling Green.
The girls at-large state qualifiers from Region 6 were Smith, Highlands senior Madison Opitz and Ryle sophomore Peyton Scott. The boys at-large state qualifiers were Highlands freshman Ashton Willis, Cooper junior Thane Hudelson and Covington Latin junior Ethan Wong.
Baseball teams in quarterfinals of 9th Region All “A” Classic
St. Henry defeated Dayton, 15-3, in the opening game of the 9th Region All “A” Classic baseball tournament on Monday and advances to one of the quarterfinal games to be played at 5 p.m. Tuesday, if weather permits.
The quarterfinal match-ups are Villa Madonna at Bellevue, Newport at St. Henry, Newport Central Catholic at Holy Cross and Ludlow at Beechwood. The four winners will advance to the semifinals scheduled for 5 and 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Thomas More Stadium, home field for the Florence Y’Alls baseball team.
The championship game is set for 7 p.m. Friday at the stadium. The 9th Region winner will play the 10th Region winner in the first round of the Kentucky All “A” Classic state tournament later this month.
