Duke Energy volunteers put Energy in Action at Camp Ernst, building bikes, stacking firewood, more

Employees from Duke Energy participated in what the company calls an Energy in Action event at the Burlington Y on Friday, October 15. About 20 employees from various departments helped to beautify the grounds at Camp Ernst, working quickly before the rain arrived.

Duke Energy Community Relations Manager, Cara Brooks, organized the volunteers along with Elizabeth “Eli” Cochran, Executive Director at the YWCA as they did tasks like building bikes, spreading mulch, splitting logs and cleaning the horse barn.

“It was great being back out volunteering in the community today,” Brooks said. “With the pandemic we’ve been unable to do these types of events. Today was beyond rewarding for us all.”

Duke Energy has contributed nearly $10 million dollars since 2016 to local non-profits in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky.
