Students from Northern Kentucky University (NKU) Haile/US Bank College of Business’ Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CIE) are taking part in the internship program, which offers hands-on, real-world experience for the modern workplace.

“This collaboration between the Cincinnati Chamber, its Minority Business Accelerator, NKU & Inphlu is a highly unique and breakthrough approach that seeks to address high-growth minority entrepreneurship and talent development in a true win-win environment”, said Darrin Redus, vice president and executive director of the Minority Business Accelerator.

“Many entrepreneurs are challenged to identify and support the right mix of talent to scale their early-stage business, so through this unique collaboration with NKU we were able to create a solid base and pipeline of talent for Inphlu, while concurrently providing an exciting and real world business experience for the students.”

By partnering with Inphlu expanding its partnership with NKU, and utilizing the leadership experience of the Minority Business Accelerator, the Chamber is able to uniquely connect a rich pipeline of talent to a highly scalable entrepreneur, while collectively providing a valuable business service to the community.

“One of our initiatives at the CIE is to develop a talent pipeline for the start-up ecosystem. Internships with high-potential start-ups like Inphlu, provide students with the opportunity to develop skills that start-ups need,” said Zac Strobl, Interim Co-Director of the CIE.

Interns must complete three separate certifications, including Inphlu, Google Analytics and Social Media Marketing Certification, before being hired into the program. Once certified, interns act as account managers and junior developers, navigating through the three tiers of Inphlu’s client offerings. Overseen by Inphlu management, student interns will come away with experience in strategic social media planning, customer service, market research and data analytics. The autonomy of the internship mimics the reality of careers in the digital tech and social media field.

“We want to empower the student interns to be creative, strategic and professional,” said Joshua Reid, founder and CEO of Inphlu. “By letting them learn the ropes and assisting experts through their internship, we’re helping them experience the realities of a potential career in a field that is rapidly evolving.”

The Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber serves as a bold voice for the interests of its 4,000-member businesses and their more than 300,000 employees. The Chamber is committed to expanding the region’s talent base by attracting new residents and finding new ways to connect employers to skilled workers.
