Magnified Giving gathers volunteers who packed food for Childhood Food Solutions, join Giving Circle

Magnified Giving, a local non-profit, whose mission is to educate, inspire, and engage students in lifelong philanthropy, hosted a morning of service-learning engaging youth and their families that seek to give back their time, talent, and treasure.

Forty volunteers made up of service-learning teachers, Magnified Giving students, and Camp Give campers with their families and friends, came together this past weekend to pack sacks of food for Childhood Food Solutions and engage with one another in a Giving Circle.

The volunteers gave their time to pack 500 sacks of food for Childhood Food Solutions, a local nonprofit organization that distributes food to children experiencing food insecurity, these packages will be distributed to the children in Cincinnati experiencing food insecurity during their winter break from school.

Following the hands-on service project, the participants engaged in a Giving Circle. During a Giving Circle, participants explore the social issues in their community, research the nonprofits providing support, and advocate for their agency and cause.

Through open and collaborative conversation, the group agrees upon a nonprofit to be awarded a grant. This event mirrors the curriculum taught in Magnified Giving programs and through Camp Give. This opportunity to engage youth and their families will allow a collective learning-and-giving opportunity during the holiday season, demonstrating the power of a group of people working together towards a common goal.
