NKITA, Japan America Society of Greater Cinti/NKY offer information session on new trade agreement


The NKY Chamber’s International Trade & Affairs and the Japan America Society of Greater Cincinnati/NKY present an information session on the new USA JAPAN Trade Agreement Tuesday, November 19, from  3-5 p.m. at the New Riff Distilling, 24 Distillery Way in Newport.

About the panel:

Joe Dehner counsels a wide variety of companies, domestic and foreign, on issues confronting global business, including cross border investment, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, global personnel matters, tax, customs and trade issues, structures, distribution and agency agreements and the resolution of international disputes. He is business counsel to emerging technology and other firms. He represents companies, owners, investors, securities brokerage firms, brokers and public customers in disputes involving the securities laws and claims involving takeovers, fiduciary duty, fraud, negligence, and securities statutes, and is a nationally recognized expert in structured settlements. Dehner is a graduate of Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public & International Relations and has a law degree from the Harvard School of Law.  Joe has chaired the firm’s International Services Group for over 20 years.

Emily Tanji joined Frost Brown Todd LLC in 2019 after graduating from Indiana University Maurer School of Law and her practice focuses on corporate and commercial matters regarding global corporations that operate in the United States

Tim Hughes is the Senior Trade Advisor for the Kentucky Department of Agriculture (KDA).  He served three years as their Office of Marketing’s Deputy Executive Director.  From 2011 through 2015 he led the Kentucky Energy & Environment Cabinet’s Division of Biofuels.  Prior to his role with bioenergy, he served as the Senior Policy Analyst of the Governor’s Office of Agricultural Policy where he also held various other positions since 2004. Hughes facilitated the program development of the Kentucky Agricultural Finance Corporation’s loan activity and assisted with grant management of the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund. He and his wife Lori own TLC Farms in Simpson County. He is a graduate of Western Kentucky University where he also served as their farm manager in 2002 and 2003. Hughes has served as the state chairman of two young farmer groups and has played leadership roles in various state and national farm organizations.

Scott Wolfe leads a team at ADVICS focused on the strategic initiatives facing the company. His experience includes 25 years in various roles in the auto industry.  He began his professional life in purchasing traveling the world in search of quality auto components. It was similar to a long “How It’s Made.” episode. He has a passion for Education, Community and Business. When not working, he spends time teaching college students and volunteering in the community. He is a member of the board for the Area Progress Council of Warren County and the Warren County Port Authority.

Erik Rowekamp is the Sr. Account Executive – Nippon Express USA. Erik is responsible for the overall sales team for Nippon Express CVG and is involved in the strategic development of local and foreign business partnerships. Erik has enjoyed a 25-year career while domiciled within the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati Market. He has been heavily involved with NKITA throughout his time in the forwarding community. He is certified within the Kaizen Business Discipline and is recognized as an official International Freight Forwarder by the CIFFA Organization.
