Billy Casper Golf selected to manage Kenton County Golf Courses; Fox Run to be discontinued

Billy Casper Golf (BCG) – the manager of more than 160 golf courses in 26 states – has been selected to manage Kenton County Golf Courses in Independence. BCG will facilitate clubhouse operations, golf course maintenance, marketing and sales, staffing and training, merchandising, golf instruction and financial management for Kenton County Golf Courses, including The Pioneer and The Willows courses.

The Fox Run course will be discontinued to focus on improving the facility’s remaining 36 holes, which have proven to be most popular with local golfers.

The daily-fee courses will be supported by BCG’s regional and national teams to provide expert guidance in all facets of the business.

“I’m confident Billy Casper Golf’s management and marketing expertise is what the Kenton County Golf Courses need at this time. They are the best in the industry,” stated Kenton County Judge Executive Kris Knochelmann. “We look forward to partnering with Billy Casper Golf to enhance the overall experience for residents and guests alike, and to pursue our shared goal of realizing Kenton County Golf Courses’ full potential. The decision to close Fox Run was difficult, but the advice from industry experts was clear and consistent. Focusing on the Pioneer and Willows courses in partnership with Billy Casper Golf is the best route to success.”

BCG will take a thorough approach to revitalizing the golf courses. Key areas include improving turf conditions, continued re-investment into facility infrastructure, installing their market leading ACE the Guest Experience training platform and helping build a premier junior golf program for the next generation.

“We are honored to be a part of Kenton County’s vision for a bright future among their golf community,” says Nick Bednar, vice president of operations for Billy Casper Golf. “We could not be more excited to implement our services and create a first-class environment for new and avid golfers.”

Golfers can also expect frequent special events from BCG throughout 2020, such as “craft beer scrambles,” couples & family events and holiday-themed outings.
The facility will also host World’s Largest Golf Outing in August – in benefit of military veterans and their families.

In 2019, Billy Casper Golf celebrates its 30th anniversary of building and refining the strongest operating platform in golf. Kenton County Golf Courses welcomes BCG back to the Bluegrass State.

One of the largest privately-owned golf course management companies in the U.S., Billy Casper Golf owns and operates over 160 properties in 26 states. The company specializes in full-service course management as well as assistance in specific segments of the golf business.
