Beckfield College launches nine month medical assisting, medical billing and coding diplomas

Beckfield College is launching two Allied Health program diplomas.

Beckfield is expanding its Allied Health program by offering new nine-month diplomas in Medical Assisting and Medical Billing and Coding that will provide the same job opportunities as programs that take longer to complete.

“Beckfield College is focused on providing career training programs that benefit their students and align with industry demand,” said Beckfield College President Diane Wolfer. “By providing shorter programs, students will not only save money but will also be able to enter the workforce in less than a year.”

Graduates of the Medical Assistant diploma program are eligible to sit for the Registered Medical Assisting (RMA) exam. Medical Billing and Coding diploma graduates are eligible to take the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam – making them attractive candidates to future employers.

Applications for the new programs are being accepted now for the January 2020 program start.

“Beckfield College is continuously evolving to meet the needs of our students and the employers who hire them,” President Wolfer said. “As the healthcare industry demand grows, we are dedicated to providing programs that will not only get our students working in their new career field sooner but also prepare them with the knowledge and skills to succeed.”

Beckfield is a career-focused educational institution that is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools to award baccalaureate degrees, associate degrees and diplomas. Academics are offered on campus in Florence and online.

Programs vary by location but also include a practical nursing diploma, associate degree of registered nursing, 3-year bachelor of science degree in nursing and an online RN to BSN program.

Beckfield College is celebrating its 35th anniversary earlier this year with a community tailgate that was widely attended by students, alumni and members of the community.

Beckfield College opened its doors in 1984 under the name Educational Services Center. The school was started based on a need to provide personalized career training outside of the traditional education setting.

“That tradition continues today, but with more health care-focused program offerings, further expansion into the community, and continuously evolving to meet both the student’s and community’s educational needs,” President Wolfer said.

  1. Excellent posting! As of 2020, the average US medical billing and coding salary was more than $40,000 – which is higher than the average American income. These numbers can fluctuate, depending on the location, type of employer and the amount of experience you already have.
