Magnified Giving to host event to honor those who support its efforts to engage students in philanthropy

Magnified Giving, a local non-profit, whose mission is to educate, inspire, and engage students in lifelong philanthropy, will host a donor appreciation dinner in honor of those who support its mission – to promote the use of time, talent and treasure in over 7,000 students this year to magnify the impact of philanthropy in our region.

Since 2008, Magnified Giving has partnered with local high schools and middle schools by giving groups of students $1,000 and inviting them to invest this money in the local non-profit community.

On October 22nd, Magnified Giving will gather at Cooper Creek Events Center in Blue Ash along with donors, students, teachers and community nonprofits to celebrate the generosity of their benefactors and the impact of the students, teachers and nonprofits.

Magnified Giving partners with over 105 schools, over 7,000 students and has granted just shy of one million dollars to the local community. Magnified Giving also runs a summer philanthropy camp – Camp Give, where children in grades 4-8 learn about, visit and serve nonprofits in the span of 5 days, and then award grants to those nonprofits.

Through both programs, students are inspired to continue work in philanthropy, and the lives of those they help, have been changed forever. This summer, Brighton Center hosted Camp Give NKY, and Horizon Community Funds sponsored the camp for children from urban Northern Kentucky.

The presenting sponsor will be First Financial Bank, followed by Silver Sponsors: KMK Law and KPG Creative, and table sponsors: Duke Energy, Sur-Seal, and Team Performance Institute. Colin Mayfield, news anchor at WLWT News Channel 5 will be the Master of Ceremonies for the program.

Magnified Giving will present a special award in memory and in honor of the late Bill Keating, Jr., who served as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors.

The Next Gen Philanthropy Award will be given to Julie Gyure, a Magnified Giving aluma and co-creator of Camp Give by Magnified Giving, a summer philanthropy camp that exposes children to nonprofits, service and giving. Gyure lives in Chicago where she is an Advisory Services Consultant at Ernst and Young. She continues to volunteer in her community and serves on Magnified Giving’s Board of Directors.
