Go vote, Kentucky! Deadline to register is Monday, October 7; Election Day is Tuesday, November 5

As the November 5 election approaches there is still time to register to vote and to have your voice heard.

Deadline to register in Kentucky is Monday, October 7. And you can register entirely online at govoteky.gov or in person at your county clerk’s office.

County clerks’ offices throughout Kentucky will accept online and paper applications until 4 p.m. local time on October 7. Mail-in voter registration applications must be postmarked by October 7, 2019.

Today is a good time to register because it’s the 8th annual National Voter Registration Day – a massive, nationwide effort to register voters. A growing number of high-profile partners, nonprofits, and election administrators join forces with the goal of helping over 250,000 eligible voters update their registration or get registered for the first time – nearly twice the number registered during any previous ‘odd-year’ holiday.

Since 2012, more than 2.4 million voters have registered or updated their registration as a result of the National Voter Registration Day initiative.

And this week, the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce is participating in Employee Voter Registration Week, an initiative dedicated to increasing the number of private sector registered voters across the country.

These registration initiatives are non-partisan — they just focus on getting citizens to register and encouraging the vote.

Remember the registration deadline to vote is Monday, October 7. The General Election will be held on Tuesday, November 5.

Employee Voter Registration Week is powered by BIPAC, a nonpartisan, membership-driven organization dedicated to helping private sector employers and employees to be engaged in the political process.
