News briefs: Ward appointed to NKU board; CTI opens new offices; Flagship Communities expands


Ward appointed to NKU board

Andrá R. Ward has been re-appointed by Governor Bevin as a member of the Northern Kentucky University Board of Regents.

Ward is president and CEO of The KhafreWard Corporation in Cincinnati. He will serve for a term expiring June 30, 2025.

The Northern Kentucky University Board of Regents consists of eight members appointed by the Governor and three additional members, including a teaching faculty representative, a non-teaching employee representative and the student body president. Board members serve six-year terms.

CTI expands in U.S. and abroad

Covington-based CTI Clinical Trial and Consulting Services (CTI) continues its expansion in the United States and abroad.

The company is opening new office locations in the United States in both Chicago, IL and Indianapolis, IN, in addition to moving the office in Sydney, Australia to a new location to accommodate the growing workforce.

“We are pleased to announce more growth in both the US and Australia,” remarks Joe Schroeder, Senior Manager of Real Estate Services at CTI. “The expanded office in Sydney and the new offices in Chicago and Indianapolis will allow us to continue to grow our ability to respond to the needs of both our internal teams and our partners in the industry.”

CTI has been working for two decades in the drug development industry across North America, Europe, South America, Pac-Asia, and Africa.

It specializes in clinical research programs involving critically ill patient populations, and has more than 30 offices worldwide to serve more than 120 pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device clients.

The company recently announced additional expansions in Texas, California, and North Carolina.

Flagship Communities expands

Flagship Communities has acquired Seven Oaks Pointe, a manufactured housing community in Corydon, Indiana, with 83 home lots. It is the 14th community owned by the company in southern Indiana. The community is currently 100% occupied and encompasses 13.31 acres.
 
“This acquisition provides us with additional homes and homesites in southern Indiana in a community located near shopping, schools and major roadways,” said Flagship CEO Kurt Keeney.

Seven Oaks Pointe is conveniently located near shopping, including Walmart in historic Corydon which is located in Harrison Township. The town of Corydon features an historic downtown area, popular with tourists, and Harrison County fairgrounds, home to the annual Harrison County Fair.

Founded by college friends Kurt Keeney and Nathan Smith in 1994, the company was named to the Business Courier’s Fast 55 list of the region’s fastest growing companies in 2016, 2017 and once again in 2018, and has also been a semi-finalist two times for the Goering Center’s Family & Private Business Awards.
