Ludlow grew with the railroad era, and the city is celebrating that history with a Railroad Heritage Fest at the City Building Plaza at 51 Elm St. on Saturday, August 17, from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Sponsored by the Ludlow Historic Society, the event will feature railroad displays, children’s activities, and talks by local historians Dave Schroeder, Chris Mayhew, Andy Wartman, and Dr. Patrick Snadon on the city’s growth with the railroad, passenger travel in the days of the Pullman cars, and how the city adapted to the post-railroad era.
In addition, the LHS will present preservation awards to property owners who have renovated their homes and business.
The Ludlow Heritage Museum will have a grand reopening at its new site on the City Plaza as well.
The Museum has one of the best local history artifact collections in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Food and drink will be available, featuring local vendors Bircus Brewing and Second Sight Spirits.
Uncle Mike Carr and Friend will provide period music throughout the day.
