The marquee is one more step to making the Ludlow Theatre, once again a one-of-a-kind entertainment destination, rooted in history and community.

The entire marquee will be illuminated for the first time at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 10.

Join to celebrate for dinner at the new Bircus Grille with fresh Angus Burgers from Gravett’s Angus in Pendleton Co. with live music by Strange Creature and Circus acts too. The celebration will include Bircus’s new distribution contract in Ohio with 17th Star Distributing.

Ludlow’s Mayor, Josh Boone said, “On behalf of the City of Ludlow, I would like to congratulate Paul Miller and the Ludlow Theatre (home of Bircus Brewing Co.) for their restoration of the historic Ludlow Theatre marquee, said Josh Boone, mayor of Ludlow.

As purchased by the Millers, 2009

“Ludlow is known for taking great pride in our city’s history. The restoration of the marquee further demonstrates our desire to preserve our past as well as promote future growth. The theatre as a whole is quickly becoming a regional tourist destination and it is my hope that the marquee will be an asset as well as the centerpiece of continued development along the Elm Street business district. We thank Paul Miller and the Ludlow Theatre for their dedication to historic preservation. Cheers to continued success!”

Opening in 1946, the Ludlow Theatre boasted an Art Deco design and served as a primary source of entertainment with evening shows, matinees and features. The building endured many transitions after its post-war heyday and eventually operated as a clutch manufacturing plant for a decades and sat empty for eight years until 2009.

That year Paul and Renee Miller, husband and wife and Owners and Operators of Circus Mojo, purchased the building.

The marquee’s framework was built in Ludlow at Bluegrass Ironworks and finished and installed by Holthaus Lackner Signs.
