Getting ready to learn: Back-to-School Fun Day at Behringer-Crawford Museum on Friday 


Solve mysteries. Examine prehistoric fossils. Conduct science experiments.  Make music.

Get your kids ready to learn with a full day of engaging educational experiences at Behringer-Crawford Museum’s “Back to School Fun Day” from 10:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. on Friday, August 16. Twelve interactive sessions will give children of all ages a chance to explore the museum’s offerings, from Ice Age animal bones to the Kentucky streetcar.

Activities are included with museum admission and guests can attend one, some or all.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Back to School Fun Day schedule:

10:30 – 10:45    Magaladon Tooth

10:45 – 11:00    Fossils (from Ordovician Sea)

11:00 – 11:15    Ice Age Animal Bones

11:15 – 11:30    A Look Inside an Owl Pellet

11:30 – 11:45    Make a Super Hero (clothes pin)

11:45 – 1:00    BREAK

1:00 – 1:30    Pioneer Games

1:30 – 1:45    Chippie Science Experiment

1:45 – 2:00    Mystery Object from Collections

2:00 – 3:00    Music-Themed Crafts

3:00 – 3:15    A Closer Look at the Street Car

3:15 – 3:45    Harland Hubbard Drawing Activity

3:45 – 4:15    You Be the Detective: Solve a Mystery

To register or for more information, call (859) 491-4003. Admission is free for BCM members. For future members, it is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors age 60+, $5 for children aged 3-17, and free for children two and under.
