Delores Hargrove-Young honored with Metropolitan Award, for significant service to regional unification


The Metropolitan Club has names Delores Hargrove-Young as this year’s Metropolitan Award winner.

Hargrove-Young will be honored at the club’s annual event on Tuesday, October 22, 6-9 p.m.

Sponsorship opportunities and individual tickets are now available.

Hargrove-Young currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board of the d.e. Foxx group of companies, which is comprised of XLC Services, Versatex, and FX Facility Group (Foxx Construction).

She has served as Board Chair and on boards of an impressive and extensive list of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky organizations, including American Red Cross, ArtsWave, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati USA Regional Chamber, Cincinnati USA Convention and Visitors Bureau, Greater Cincinnati Foundation, United Way of Greater Cincinnati, the Urban League of Greater Southwest Ohio, YWCA of Greater Cincinnati, Advocates for Youth Education, Inc., The Sister Accord Foundation, and 7 Principles Foundation, Inc.

She has also served on the Go Metro Task Force, and co-chaired the Community Organizing Committee which led the 2015 All-Star Game efforts in our community.

An active member of the Queen City (Ohio) Chapter of the Links, Incorporated, she has been recognized for her accomplishments by Go Red for Women, Girl Scouts of Western Ohio, Boy Scouts of America, Dan Beard Council, Maketewa MBA, the Women’s Alliance, and is a YWCA Career Woman of Achievement.

The Metropolitan Club proudly supports local organizations and has contributed more than $1.4 million to several charitable organizations since the Club’s founding in 1991. The Club shares equally 70% of its bottom-line results with three not-for-profit associations: Life Learning Center, UpSpring and Be Concerned.

Corporate, private entities and individual attendees are invited to attend, and sponsorship opportunities are available, ranging from $250 for individual tickets to various sponsorship levels up to $15,000.

The Metropolitan Award is presented annually to a citizen in Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky who has exhibited exponential effort toward improving the lives of our citizens, and who has made significant contributions toward the unification of our community.

These efforts take place within both the business and social worlds and are indicative of the devotion that the recipient holds towards others.

Previous Metropolitan Award honorees include George Vincent, Kay Geiger, Otto Budig, Jr., Robert Castellini, Patricia Corbett, Victoria Buyniski Gluckman, Judge Nathaniel Jones, William Keating, A.G. Lafley, Ed and Carol Rigaud, and William T. Robinson III.
