Covington man arrested on child pornography charge; tip came from KY State Police, NCMEC

A Covington man has been arrested on charges related to possession and distribution of child pornography.

Acting on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and Kentucky State Police, Covington Police executed a search warrant at an address on Euclid Avenue Wednesday.

After searching the residence, police arrested Keran Christensen on charges of Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance By Minor (Class D Felony) and Distribution of Matter Portraying Sexual   Performance By Minor, 1st Degree (Class C Felony).

Christensen is lodged in the Kenton County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond.

The investigation remains active.

Covington Police issued the following statement regarding the arrest:

On August 21, 2019, members of the Covington Police Department Criminal Investigations Bureau initiated an investigation into possible possession of child pornography.

Investigators, responding to a tip from NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) and the Kentucky State Police, were able to obtain a search warrant for 1831 Euclid Avenue.

The search warrant was executed at approximately 1500 hrs. 

Once at the residence, investigators located the resident, Keram Christensen outside.

They spoke with Mr. Christensen for some time and then entered the residence.

During the execution of the search warrant multiple items of evidence were seized to include: computer equipment, cellular devices, printed photographs and other evidence to suggest Mr. Christensen was involved in the possession and distribution of sexually explicit matter involving juveniles. 

Mr. Christensen was taken to Covington Police Headquarters where he was interviewed and then arrested. 

Mr. Christensen has been lodged in the Kenton County Detention Center and has been charged with Possession of Matter Portraying Sexual Performance By Minor (Class D Felony) and Distribution of Matter Portraying Sexual   Performance By Minor, 1st Degree (Class C Felony). 

He is currently being held at the Kenton County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash bond. 

This is still an active investigation as investigators continue to gather additional information and items of evidence.

No other information will be released at this time.
