The Northern Kentucky Unity Award is presented by the Northern Kentucky Chamber to an individual or individuals who have shown leadership in bringing Northern Kentuckians together to address and solve common challenges and issues and who have shown leadership in seeking regional solutions to Northern Kentucky challenges.
This year’s recipients are the Northern Kentucky Judges-Executive Kris Knochelmann, Gary Moore, and Steve Pendery. This award is given in recognition of their ongoing collaboration on major regional issues including:
• Collectively advocating for regional transportation solutions;
• Collaboratively battling the opioid epidemic thru the creation of the NKY Office of Drug Policy;
• Uniting Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties on the Regional Communications System that was conceived, designed, bid, constructed, and will be operated as an integrated, regional communication system that saved the regions millions of dollars and will improve the safety of first responders and the community; and
• Restructuring the Tri-County Economic Development Board, increasing the private sector board representation and installing a business leader as Board Chair.
