Summer street-sweeping begins in Covington July 8, schedule is available on City website

The Covington summer street-sweeping schedule begins Monday, July 8.

Covington’s Public Works Department has divided the City into 24 sections, each of which will be swept over this two-month period.

To find out when your street will be swept: Find your street on this map, HERE, and then click on your section number to retrieve the two-day period that Public Works will be on your street (one side each day).

To further narrow down the date, find your section number HERE to see a more detailed list of the sections and the streets they include. Then look HERE to see which side of your street will be done on that day.

On-street parking is restricted on sweep days. If permanent signage is not available, temporary signs will be put up 24 hours before the sweeping begins.

Residents should follow these guidelines on street-sweeping day:

1. Avoid parking in areas where “No Parking” signs have been posted. Cars in those areas on street-sweeping day may be ticketed.

2. The day before Public Works crews are to sweep in your area, we encourage you to clean the sidewalk in front of your residence and sweep any small debris into the street to be picked up by the sweepers. Please avoid placing large items in the street.

If your street has trees that need to be pruned because of damage, out-of-control growth, or obstructing branches, now is a great time to use the online iWorQ Service Request tool to let Public Works know. Residents can download the app on their phone or access the form here.  The “agency code” is Cov01.
