“We are very pleased to present the Horizon Award to Kristi,” said Horizon Community Funds President Nancy Grayson. “Her extensive service and deep commitment to our community showcase what Northern Kentuckians do best – support each other for the common good.”

As Vice President Global Human Resources for Multi-Color Corporation (“MCC”), Nelson is responsible for overall human capital management for the company’s global workforce, which is comprised of approximately 10,000 employees across 86 plants in 26 countries.

With a passion for serving her community, Nelson’s philanthropic efforts include co-chairing the St. Elizabeth Foundation’s capital campaign for the new St. Elizabeth Cancer Care Center and being an advocate with the Northern Kentucky Children’s Advocacy Center. She is a board member of the Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education, the Northern Kentucky Convention Center, and the Northern Kentucky University Foundation.

“I am overwhelmed with gratitude to be receiving the Horizon Award this year,” said Nelson. “It’s humbling to know that an organization I admire and hold in such high regard has selected me for this incredibly special recognition. I cannot think of a more meaningful honor.”

Founded in 1969, 2019 marks the NKY Chamber’s 50th anniversary. Those 50 years have brought growth, development, and a community unique to the region. The evening will include a look back at key milestones and highlight individuals who were instrumental in the organization’s evolution. The centerpiece of the evening will be the presentation of awards to individuals and organizations making an impact on the region.
