According to a release from the Boone County Sheriff’s office, Anthony C. Collins and Brian A. Kerr of Erlanger, both 18, and Kyle A. Kerr of Burlington, who is also 18, all confessed to their part in the crimes.

The Kerrs are brothers and all three men are identified by the Sheriff’s office as former Conner High School students.

Damaged were the ticket booth and press box in the area of the school’s football field, the Conner Cougar statue, the women’s bathroom and other items. There was also damage to a vacant office building on Burlington Pike and a playground area.

The Boone County Sheriff’s office issued the following release regarding the incident:

On Friday morning, July 12, 2019, Boone County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Conner High School Campus and then later to the 1600 block of Burlington Pike after it was reported that each location had sustained potentially tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of damage, likely related to criminal mischief. Detectives later arrested three (3) former Conner High School students.

The Boone County Sheriff’s office released the following photos showing some of the damage on the Conner High School campus and the surrounding neighborhood (click to enlarge).

Anthony C. Collins and Brian A. Kerr, both 18, and both of Erlanger were arrested and charged with two (2) counts of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and one (1) count of Burglary 3rd Degree.

Kyle A. Kerr, 18, Burlington was arrested and charged with one (1) count of Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and one (1) count of Burglary 3rd Degree.

Criminal Mischief 1st and Burglary 3rd respectively are classified as a Class D Felony.

The Kerr brothers along with Collins, first burglarized and damaged a vacant office space on Burlington Pike by flooding sinks along with damaging the walls and ceilings in that building. The flooding caused damage to a separate, attached business next door. After leaving Burlington Pike, K. Kerr was dropped off at his address in Burlington. Collins and B. Kerr then traveled to the Conner High School Campus, to include Goodridge Elementary, and committed more damage.

Collins and B. Kerr damaged the ticket booth and press box in and around the Conner High School football field by shattering multiple windows with a baseball bat. They then proceeded to flooding and damaging the women’s bathroom, knocked over the Conner Cougar statue, damaged the flag pole and stole the Kentucky State Flag along with the Conner High School flag, among other things. Lastly, they proceeded to Goodridge Elementary where they damaged the playground area behind the school.

The Kerr brothers were first located and ultimately confessed to detectives. Both were arrested on 7/12/2019. A warrant was signed on Collins and he was arrested on 7/16/2019. Collins also confessed and in part stated that he committed the crimes because he was bored.

Collins was lodged at the Boone County Jail and is being held on a $30,000 bond.

B. Kerr was lodged at the Boone County Jail and has since been released on a $5,000 bond.

K. Kerr was lodged at the Boone County Jail and has since been released on a $2,500 bond.
