Villa Mocha, new coffee shop, opens in Villa Hills; Cinci artist Jess Hadley is first to show work there

Villa Mocha is a new coffee shop at 2809 Amsterdam Road in Villa Hills.

The shop is owned by a husband and wife team and Northern Kentucky natives, Daniel Richardson and Alison Spears. Villa Mocha offers fair trade and organic coffees locally roasted in Georgetown, Kentucky.

The atmosphere is bright and cheerful and very family friendly. There is even a chalkboard and coloring pages to keep the little ones happy while parents enjoy their morning, afternoon or early evening coffees.

Villa Mocha also offers pastries like donuts, muffins and scones and will add bagels and some savory snacks coming soon!

Local artists will be featured beginning with Jess Hadley, a Cincinnati native, mid-May through June 15th

Hadley is a self-taught artist having painted through childhood and high school. Her process involves mixing acrylic paint with a variety of mediums causing it to react in a way that creates detailed designs.

Hadley harnesses her personal experiences to create abstract works of art.

On May 24, 6 to 8 p.m., Hadley will be at Villa Mocha for an opening reception. Her work is available for purchase.

Retail items created by local artisans such as bath bombs, espresso scrubs, foot soaks and Kokedama air plants are also available for purchase.
Villa Mocha is Villa Hills’ first coffee shop and hopes to become a community staple.

Located inside the Amsterdam Village Plaza, it is convenient for anyone living in Villa Hills or passing through.

The hours are Tuesday through Friday 7 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.
