Nine thousand, three-hundred, thirty-five days…and counting.
Staub
That’s 25 years and seven months – and that’s how long Lisa Staub has been part of Redwood – Northern Kentucky’s nonprofit, special needs facility.
That number makes her the longest working employee here – although Redwood has nine employees with 20 or more years of service.
“I started as a speech-language pathologist at Redwood,” she said, “after I earned my MA from the University of Cincinnati,” Straub said. “I completed my clinical fellowship year for ASHA (American Speech Language Hearing Association) at Redwood and have been here ever since.”
Redwood is celebrating its 66th birthday this year, and Lisa Staub has seen 26 of them.
Staub serves as Assistive Technology Resource Center Coordinator and Speech Language Pathologist.
She provides augmentative communication evaluations, direct service intervention in the use of Assistive Technology to children, adults, family members or caregivers; equipment modification to benefit consumers in their use of assistive technology/augmentative communication; and assists in program areas with the use of assistive technology and augmentative communication for adults and children with disabilities.
Redwood is a way of life for Staub.
“My three children attended childcare at Redwood; in high school, they all brought volunteer groups back to Redwood. In college, my two sons participated in the Engineers without Borders group from the University of Cincinnati to help adapt toys for Redwood programs. My daughter is in college now and hopes to be a speech-language pathologist and work with children with disabilities.”
Her legacy at Redwood – easy.
She started a museum of assistive technology in the Redwood library to showcase the changes that some current adult assistive technology users have seen through the years.
And after nine thousand, three hundred thirty-five days, Lisa Staub has seen many changes.
The one thing that hasn’t changed for her after all these years is her Redwood address.
High named Redwood volunteer coordinator

Brittany High has been named Volunteer Coordinator at Redwood.
“Brittany has a tremendous amount of success in nonprofit volunteer work,” said Carol Serrone, Director of Philanthropy for the Northern Kentucky nonprofit, special needs facility. “We’re happy as well as fortunate to have her serve Redwood.”
The Burlington native is a 2015 graduate of Northern Kentucky University where she majored in Anthropology and Women’s Studies.
“I look forward to managing the amazing people of Redwood volunteers we now have and work to recruit new volunteers to support our mission, High said. “I’m excited to connect people to all of the various volunteer projects and needs we have here at Redwood,” she said.
