YMCA of Greater Cincinnati Synchrogators swim team wins title at U.S. national competition


Cincinnati Synchrogators Sweeps National Championships and Coach Julie Jasontek Wins National Coach of the Year

The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati Synchrogators 16-19 team claimed the title of US National Champions for all team events at the 2019 US National Synchronized Swimming Championships which took place in San Antonio, Texas March 30 -31. Coach Julie Jasontek was named the 2019 Senior USA National Coach of the Year and the team swept the competition in all team events – Tech Team, Free Team and Free Combination.

Athletes from around greater Cincinnati included Rose Homoelle, Erin Gorney, Carol Walsh, Anne Bouley, MacKenzie Finn, Piper Edler, Paisley McCudden, Madi Almond, Katie Price and Chris Leahy.

Homelle, a senior at Mercy McAuley High School, took home the 2019 USA SYNCHRO Senior High Point athlete award and the team won the overall USA Senior National High Point Trophy. In addition to the team events, Homoelle and McCudden won gold in the Duet Technical and Gorney and Leahy won gold in Mixed Duet.

Julie Jasontek and Head Coach Ginny Jasontek have coached the Cincinnati Synchrogators to three consecutive Junior Olympic titles prior to this victory. The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati Synchrogators is a year-round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities.
