McDonald, who was also selected Horizon League Player of the Year, averaged 18.7 points and 9.4 rebounds per game this season as NKU posted a 26-9 record. The Newport Central Catholic graduate also led the Norse to the Horizon League Tournament title.

McDonald closed his NKU career as the program’s all-time leader in seven categories — scoring (2,066 points), rebounds (1,081), games played (131), free throws made (450), free throws attempted (586), defensive rebounds (816) and defensive rebounding averaging (6.2 rpg).

With McDonald, NKU experienced a level of success never before seen in a team’s first three years with active Division I status. The Norse won two Horizon League regular-season titles (2018, 2019), two league tournament titles (2017, 2019), played in two NCAA Tournaments (2017, 2019) and competed in the NIT (2018).

McDonald will compete for the West squad in the Reese’s College All-Star Game, presented by the National Association of Basketball Coaches on April 5, as part of the NCAA Final Four festivities. He is also taking part in the Dos Equis 3x3U Championship throughout the weekend.
