Hagedorn Appliances partners with DCCH to give back, help child abuse victims in Northern Kentucky

April is Child Abuse Awareness Month and for the 5th year in a row Hagedorn Appliances has partnered with DCCH Center for Children and Families to give back and help change lives.

“It is very important to me and my family to support those in need and the DCCH is very near and dear to my heart,” explains Rich Kopser, owner of Hagedorn Appliances.

Kentucky ranks as the highest in the nation when it comes to child abuse according to the latest report from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Since 1848, DCCH Center for Children and Families has helped thousands of children and families in need. Its mission is to express provide quality care and compassionate services. What was once a traditional orphanage, where children would live until they were either emancipated or adopted, is now a multi-faceted agency committed to caring for victims of child abuse and their families.

The DCCH Residential Treatment Program serves boys and girls, ages six through 14 who have been removed from their homes due to extreme physical, sexual, and emotional abuse and neglect.

DCCH Center cares for 40 children who live full-time in apartment-like settings. These children bear profound social, emotional, and behavioral challenges stemming from the unfathomable pain they have suffered.

DCCH provides a safe place to sleep, healthy meals, appropriate clothing and shoes, specialized education, and intensive behavioral therapy to move them out of pain and suffering to a place where they find a strong sense of security, peace, and hope.

DCCH also provides therapeutic foster care training and placements, as well as an Outpatient Therapy Center to meet the behavioral health needs of our community.
