Verst company reaching out to help Eilers family; Erlanger home was ravaged by explosions, fire

The Eilers family of Erlanger escaped with serious injuries after explosions and a fire ravaged their Locust Street home on the evening of March 3.

More than a dozen emergency vehicles responded, and Fire Chief Todd Whitakers said it took an hour and a half to gain control of the fire and to put it out. The family was taken to the hospital with burns and shrapnel wounds.

Fellow workers of family member Jessica Eilers at Verst Logistics Packaging have joined to help the family with medical and recovery expenses through a GoFundMe campaign.

Paul Verst, owner of Verst Logistics, has pledged to match all donations by company employees.

“We know that trying to rebuild from this event will be a long and burdening path -– and that Jessica and her family will need a huge amount of support, especially since they lost their home,” said a Verst spokesperson.

“As a result, we’re hoping that people will find room in their hearts to help in some way because every penny truly will count.”
