Team Kenton Foundation to honor Outstanding Graduate, Lt. Jason Wietholter, at April 4 event


Team Kenton Foundation will honor Lt. Justin Wietholter, a graduate of Scott High School, as its Outstanding Graduate at its annual event April 4 at Newport Aquarium.

Lt. Justin Wietholter

Lt. Wietholter serves as a patrol supervisor and SWAT team commander for the Covington Police Department.

In 2015, Wietholter was one of two Covington officers recognized as “Police Officer of the Year” by the NKY Police Chiefs Association after saving the life of a 9-year-old girl by rescuing her from a house fire set by an arsonist.

He also serves as a leader in the Fraternal Order of Police, holding the positions of Vice President of Lodge #1 and State Lodge Trustee. He holds a BA in Criminal Justice and an MA in Executive Leadership & Organizational Change, both from NKU.

“Justin Wietholter is a rising star in local law enforcement,” wrote Rob Sanders, who nominated Lt. Wietholter for the award.

Tickets from the event are $75 and will benefit the Team Kenton Foundation, which is an independent non-profit organization created for the purpose of raising funds for and increasing community awareness of, issues that will directly impact student learning and educational opportunities at all levels throughout the Kenton County School District.

More specifically, tickets sales will go toward funding college and career certifications for students who want to take the tests, but may not be able to afford the fees.
