Redwood names local radio veteran Andy Furman public relations coordinator


Andy Furman has been appointed Public Relations Coordinator at Redwood, according to an announcement by Carol Serrone, Director of Philanthropy for the Northern Kentucky non-profit special needs facility.

Furman is a Northern Kentucky resident who has served as a sports publicist at Hunter College (NY), St. Francis College (NY) and Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla.

He served as public relations director for the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers in the North American Soccer League and worked as publicist for Buffalo-based Delaware North Cos. serving their gaming facilities nationwide. His assignment to then Latonia Race Course was his introduction to Northern Kentucky.

His radio career started with Cincinnati’s 700-WLW as a sports-talk host – presently he works for iHeart Media’s Fox Sports Radio hosting a national talk show on weekends.

Redwood, located in Ft. Mitchell, guides children and adults with multiple and severe disabilities to achieve independence and reach their highest potential throughout their lives, by providing enriching educational therapeutic and vocational services.
