Nick Clooney to host Cincinnati Jazz Hall of Fame annual induction ceremony on March 31


The Cincinnati Jazz Hall of Fame (CJHOF) annual induction ceremony for its fifth class will be held on Sunday, March 31 at Mount St. Joseph University.

The Induction Program and Jazz Concert will be held in the University Theatre, 5701 Delhi Pike, Cincinnati.

Nick Clooney will be the host and the evening will be a recognition of the Cincinnati jazz scene and a celebration of its rich history — Jazz continues to be alive in Cincinnati.

A VIP Reception will begin at 5 p.m. for invited guests, and The Don Steins/Paul Hawthorne Quartet will provide the musical entertainment. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the Program/ Concert will be from 7-9:30 p.m. with a 30-minute intermission.

During the intermission attendees will have the opportunity to buy a chance for the Super Split-the-Pot, CJHOF jazz spirit wear will be available for sale along with coffee mugs, license plate holders –– as well as John Von Ohlen estate items and jazz calendar.

The musical entertainment during the evening will feature the incomparable Phil DeGreg performing George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue. The Hank Mautner Sextet, The Wayne Yeager Trio with Pamela Mallory (vocalist), and the “Jazz at Dusk” combo/quintet will also provide amazing jazz during the concert portion of the celebration.
