A decade after purchasing nursing home beds in Northern Kentucky, Carespring will open its 143-bed, 94,000 sq. ft., $25 million healthcare and rehabilitation facility near Union on Tuesday, March 19, with a ribbon cutting ceremony beginning at 3 p.m.
With the creation of 200 jobs, top state and local elected officials will be on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new state-of-the-art facility along U.S. 42, just south of Union.

Boonespring was a vision of Carespring founder, Barry Bortz, who passed away in September of 2016, after he secured the necessary approvals and plans to move forward with new facility.
“Part of Barry’s life was to always put a mark on everything he touched,” said Carespring CEO Chris Chirumbolo. “I’m proud to say that Boonespring is Carespring’s 11th skilled nursing facility, creating 200 jobs for Northern Kentucky.”
It took a bipartisan effort of support for the Boonespring project as it moved through the regulatory hurdles in Frankfort.
Sen. John Schickel, R-Union and State Rep. Dennis Keene, D-Wilder, worked to move the project forward, along with Rep. Sal Santoro, R-Florence former State Rep.Addia Wuchner, Boone County Judge Executive Gary Moore and Campbell County Judge-Executive Steve Pendery.
