Discovering Taiwan and Beyond Through Watercolor

Many people haven’t had the chance to explore the natural beauty of Taiwan. Local artist Yin-Shen Chang shares some of her favorite images of this spectacular part of the world along with some images from places a little closer to home. These watercolors are based on her own memories and photos. Meet Yin-Shen Chang in person at the opening reception.

Holocaust Survivor: Zahava Rendler

Ms. Rendler is scheduled for two speaking events to give everyone a chance to hear her story. Zahava and her family survived the Nazi invasion by hiding in an underground bunker with 28 other people. A factory employee named Stachek visited the bunker once or twice a week to bring supplies. Zahava was very young and slept most of the time because she was given sleeping pills to keep her from crying and giving away their hiding placeJoin us on either April 4 or April 16 to hear Zahava Rendler’s remarkable story!

Filmmaker Charles Campbell was inspired by the harrowing journey of the Cincinnati 28, a group of enslaved who escaped Boone County in 1853, when he wrote and directed All or Nothin’.
