Construction work will begin Monday, April 1.

“By eliminating this sharp curve on Turfway Road, we are enhancing safety for area residents and commuters,” said Bob Yeager, chief district engineer for KYTC District 6.

A six-week closure of KY 717 (Turfway Road) from KY 1017 (Aero Parkway) to KY 236 (Donaldson Road) will be required as part of the project, and the public will be notified once closure dates are confirmed. The detour during the closure will be KY 842 (Houston Road) to KY 236 (Donaldson Road). Local traffic will have access.

The project is set to be complete in early August.

Riegler Blacktop of Florence, Ky., was awarded the project with its low bid of $1.3 million.
