The Carnegie hosts 13th Annual Art of Food; event allows tri-state chefs and artists to come together

The Carnegie’s annual Art of Food event returns on Friday, February 22 for another year of celebrating the intersection of art and food with top chefs and local artists.

Attendees will get their fill of good luck – and delicious cuisine – as The Carnegie celebrates the event’s lucky 13th year. Featuring a fortuitous mix of local fare and one-of-a-kind art, the evening promises to be full of magical meals, scrumptious superstitions, and more.

“We think the 13th year of The Art of Food is a lucky thing, and we’re celebrating,” said Kim Best, Executive Director of The Carnegie. “Each year gets better and better, and this year should be no exception with the incredible lineup of chefs and artists.”

More than 20 restaurants and culinary artists will serve up unique bites in galleries filled with food-inspired art and performances from local artists including Cryptogram, Elizabeth Dirska, Brian Dooley, Tony Dotson, Mike Enzweiler, Estel Roig Fortin, Aryn Fox, Joe Girandola and UC/DAAP Duck Tape Studio, MHA Mini Pop Up (with artists Margaret Howard Ackerman, Paul Cohn, and Laurel Howell), Pones, Amy Swoboda, and Catherine Whited.

“The Art of Food has been continuously evolving since its inception 13 years ago,” said Gallery Director Matt Distel. “On February 22 artists and chefs will create a dynamic environment with visual art, performers, interactive installations, and, of course, food.”

This year’s event will once again be spread throughout The Carnegie six galleries as well as a large heated tent on the front plaza. For guests who purchase a VIP ticket, The Carnegie’s  Duvenek Gallery will host a special VIP lounge with seating as well as complimentary beer, wine. Additionally, VIP guests will have the opportunity to mix and mingle with chefs during an exclusive Art of Food after party.

Tickets for the Art of Food are $50, $35 for Carnegie members. VIP tickets are available for $100. Tickets can be purchased through The Carnegie Box Office, open Tuesday through Friday, noon – 5pm, by phone at (859) 957-1940 or online at www.thecarnegie.com. Food is served while supplies last.
